On Sunday 11th November, Shannon, Nevan , Rebecca , Zander and Vivienne took over Peterborough Soup Kitchen to prepare 60 portions of vegetarian lokshen soup, and 60 rounds of sandwiches. We then went out in the Peterborough Soup Kitchen van to serve the homeless in Peterborough city centre. The soup was so good we had people coming back for seconds! Ingredients for the day were supplied by Billy and there were enough supplies for us to contribute fruit and crisps for 2 further sessions.
Peterborough Soup Kitchen take their van out 6 days a week. On each occasion they provide the homeless with soup, sandwiches, a bag containing fruit, crisps and a cake, plus whichever hot drinks their customers would like. Each session can feed anywhere between 40 and 60 people.
